Call us instead → 1-800-234-5678Our Canadian-based support team is available by phone and email. We're real people — not a call centre overseas — and we genuinely want to help.
If you hit a snag — whether it's a technical glitch, a question about a field, or trouble connecting your bank account — don't abandon your application. Just call or email us and a team member will walk you through it personally. We complete applications over the phone every day.
Phone calls are answered live during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8am–6pm Eastern). For emails, we aim to respond within 2 business hours — though it's often much faster. We do not leave questions unanswered.
For loan-related emergencies outside of business hours, our application system and automated approval process remain fully operational 24/7.
We take every concern seriously. If you feel your situation wasn't handled appropriately, you can request to escalate to our customer experience manager directly. Simply email us with "Escalation Request" in the subject line and a senior team member will personally review your case within one business day.
Yes. Our support team includes bilingual (English and French) agents. When you call or email, simply indicate your preferred language and we'll connect you with an agent who can assist you in French.
To update your address, phone number, email, or other personal details, please contact our support team directly. For security purposes, we verify your identity before making changes to your account. Do not email sensitive information — always call for changes related to banking or identification.
Waves Financial will never ask for your password, SIN, or full banking credentials by text or unsolicited phone call. If you receive a suspicious message, do not click any links or share any information.

No — and this is one of the things we're most proud of. We do not perform a hard or soft credit inquiry at any point in the application process. Applying for a loan with Waves Financial will never appear on your credit report and will never affect your credit score.
Instead, we use Flinks — a secure, read-only bank verification tool — to confirm your income and banking history. This is a faster and fairer way to assess your ability to repay.
We accept a wide range of income sources, as long as they've been consistent for at least 3 months and total at least $800 per month net:
• Full-time or part-time employment
• Self-employment income
• Employment Insurance (EI)
• Canada Pension Plan (CPP) or Old Age Security (OAS)
• Provincial disability benefits (ODSP, AISH, CPPD, etc.)
• Workers' Compensation (WSIB, WCB)
• Child Tax Benefit
• Other regular government assistance
We are currently licensed and operating in: British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador.
We are actively working to expand to additional provinces. If you're in a province we don't currently serve, drop us an email and we'll let you know as soon as we launch there.
Yes. Because we don't check credit, having no credit history in Canada is not a barrier. What matters is that you have a consistent income source for the past 3 months and an active Canadian bank account. Many newcomers to Canada have successfully applied with Waves Financial.
Our loans range from $500 to $1,000. The amount you're approved for depends on your verified income and ability to repay — we never approve you for more than you can comfortably manage. This is part of our commitment to responsible lending.
Our approval process is based on responsible lending. Common reasons for a declined application include: monthly income below $800, income that hasn't been consistent for at least 3 months, too many NSF (non-sufficient funds) transactions in your bank history, an active bankruptcy or consumer proposal, or residency in a province we don't currently serve.
Repayments are collected automatically via pre-authorized debit (PAD) from the bank account you connected during your application. You don't need to manually send payments — just make sure the funds are in your account on your scheduled payment dates.
You choose your payment frequency during the application: weekly, every 2 weeks, twice a month, or monthly. Your repayment schedule is clearly outlined in your loan agreement before you sign.
If a payment is returned due to insufficient funds (NSF), a $45 fee is applied and the missed payment is rescheduled to the end of your contract. Interest continues to accumulate on the outstanding balance.
Absolutely — and we encourage it. You can pay off your loan at any time with zero prepayment penalties. Paying early reduces the total interest you pay, saving you money.
To arrange an early payoff, simply contact our team and we'll calculate the exact outstanding balance (principal + accrued interest to date) and arrange the final debit.
Yes. If you're facing a temporary financial difficulty and need to move a payment, contact us at least 48 hours before your scheduled payment date. A $25 deferral fee applies, and the payment is rescheduled to the end of your contract.
Our Annual Percentage Rate (APR) is 23.00%. For example, a $750 loan repaid over 120 days has an estimated total repayment of approximately $1,030. The exact amounts are shown clearly in your loan agreement before you sign — there are no hidden fees.
There is no application fee and no early repayment penalty. The only additional charges that may apply are the $45 NSF fee (if a payment bounces) and the $25 deferral fee (if you request a postponed payment).
Yes. Once your loan is fully repaid, you are welcome to apply again. Returning customers who have demonstrated a good repayment history typically experience an even faster approval process.
Once your loan is fully repaid, you can request account closure by contacting our team. Under Canada's PIPEDA privacy legislation, you also have the right to request access to your personal data, corrections, or deletion — subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.
To submit a data request, email us at privacy@wavesfinancial.ca with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We respond within 30 days as required by law.
